Police on Tuesday apprehended one of three suspects following a brazen robbery at Guy America Housing Scheme, Hill Foot, Soesdyke-Linden Highway. Reports indicate that at about 05:00h, three bandits, one of whom was armed with a gun, robbed employees attached to the Guy America Construction Company of an excavator sensor. Enquiries disclosed that the two male employees were on duty when the three suspects pounced on them, held them at gunpoint and demanded that they hand over the item. A scuffle ensued between one of the suspects and one of the employees, which resulted in the two employees being tied up and beaten. The suspects then removed the sensor/monitor from a parked excavator and made good their escape. However, at approximately 05:50h, Police acting on information received, went to the Soesdyke Junction, where they arrested one of the suspects – a 21-year old unemployed male of Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke-Linden Highway. At the time, the suspect was said to be hiding in a yard. Ranks reportedly recovered a monitor and a toy gun which was dropped by the men after they gave chase.
