Bandits break into car, cart off bags

A parked vehicle at the Chateau Margot Road on the Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was broken into on Friday afternoon and two bags containing valuable documents were stolen.
According to information received, the incident occurred at about 17:30h and happened in just under five minutes.
Narendra Guyadin, owner of the car, explained that he parked the vehicle bearing registration number PJJ 1008 along the Chateau Margot Railway Embankment and ventured out of the vehicle with his sister to purchase food. Upon returning, they noticed that the door’s lock was opened.
“When I check, the stuff missing. Her bag was in front and my bag was at the back on the left side,” he explained.
Guyadin said he heard a crashing sound prior to him returning to the car but did not pay heed.
Adding to that, he recalled seeing three men in a car before entering the fast food outlet.
“We spent like just five minutes before we came out. There was three guys in a car looking at me a bit strange but at the moment, I didn’t take it seriously,” the young man explained.
His bag contained a yellow envelope with his birth certificate, primary education certificate, CSEC certificate, University degree, TIN certificate and passport among other documents.
His sister’s black bag contained University of Guyana books, an identification card (ID) and other unnamed belongings. Anyone with details is asked to contact the nearest police station.
