Bandits invade Golden Grove, EBD home

A Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD) family has been left traumatised after four armed men invaded their home and escaped with cash and other valuables.
Reports are the family was robbed at about 22:00h.
According to Rovie Dyal, an occupant of the home, he was in the yard when he saw four men, who quickly pounced on him. The man told Police that his family members were in the house having a drink. Dyal said after attacking him, the four men, two of whom were armed with guns and the others with knives, barged into their home and held the family at gunpoint.
The man said the suspects began demanding that they hand over their valuables, and in fear for their lives, the family complied.
The bandits made off with a Samsung Galaxy cellphone valued at $28,000, a black wallet valued at $5000, and $25,000 among other items.
An alarm was raised after the men exited and neighbours were alerted. The police were also summoned. An investigation has since been launched.(G9)
