Bandits relieve security guard of firearm, cell phone during robbery

Benson Jarvis, a security guard attached to A-Chang Supermarket at 562-63 Railway Embankment, Lusignan, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was on Tuesday relieved of his firearm and cellphone by two men.

Police say the incident occurred between 22:00h and 21:10h while Jarvis was on duty.

Two unidentifiable men, armed with a handgun, allegedly robbed the security guard of one .32 Taurus Pistol serial # FKAM 76570, with twelve live .32 rounds total valued $245,000 and one Blu Cell phone with sim valued $ $23,000.

He was reportedly approached by the two men on a motorcycle and the pillion rider pointed a gun towards him and relieved him of the items.

The men made good their escape and are being hunted by the Police.

Investigations are ongoing.
