Bandits rob businessman in front of home

A 46-year-old businessman of Fourth Street, Cummings Lodge, Greater Georgetown was on Thursday evening robbed by three bandits after he arrived home from the supermarket.
Police have said that the man was robbed of $400,000 and two Samsung Galaxy cell phones valued at $120,000.
Reports are that the victim had gone to a supermarket in Cummings Lodge to purchase groceries, and upon returning home, had exited his vehicle to open his gate.
While he was in the process of opening the gate, a silver-coloured Premio vehicle approached and stopped right beside his car, and two males, one dressed in a red hoodie and the other in a grey hoodie, exited and instructed him to go back into his car, to which he complied.
The hooded men then searched the businessman and confiscated his phones and the cash. Thereafter, they ransacked his car and removed other sums of cash that he had lodged in the middle compartment of his car, before they and the driver of the Premio made good their escape.
The Police were called to the scene, and they questioned several persons. CCTV cameras in the area will be reviewed soon, as investigations continue.
