Bandits snatch cash from minibus stopped in Agricola

Police are searching for three men who robbed a minibus which stopped at Agricola, Greater Georgetown, to drop off passengers.
Reports are the three men walked up to the minibus at about 11:30h and snatched the cash which the conductor had in his hand and made good their escape into Agricola. This newspaper was told the passengers in the bus did not realised what had taken placed until the conductor raised an alarm.
Meanwhile, three armed bandits attacked the driver of a route 44 minibus on the East Coast minibus park on Saturday last.
The victim, Mark Bowen, 35, of North Melanie Damishana, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was attacked and robbed at about 01:30h.
According to reports, Bowen who had concluded working for the day, was sitting in his minibus counting his day’s earnings when he was approached by three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, one with an ice pick and the other with a cutlass.
The perpetrator with the gun pointed it to Bowen’s head demanding that he hand over the cash. The frightened man complied after which the said bandit proceeded to enter the victim’s bus, removing his keys.
The trio then escaped on foot, reportedly in an eastern direction. Bowen reported the matter at the Brickdam Police Station and an investigation was launched.
