Bandits terrorise, rob Coffee Bean customers

At around 12:00h on Tuesday, two armed men stormed the Coffee Bean Café on Church Street, Georgetown, and robbed two men of over million in cash and valuables, after apparently trailing them from Scotia Bank. The men were also gun butted during the incident.
The Police said that around 11:00h, two men; one Guyanese and a Malaysian, left Nandy Park, East Bank Demerara, and ventured into the capital city to transact business. The men went to Scotia Bank, withdrew a sum of .2 million, and then ventured to the Coffee Bean Café to grab lunch when they were accosted while waiting on their order.

While waiting on their lunch, the suspects approached and held them at gunpoint and robbed them of their wallets and phones. One of the bandits then dealt one of the victims a blow to his head with the gun and took away the car keys after which they proceeded to the car and took out the said $1.2 million.
The two men were relieved of five cellular phones valued $555,000 and $1.25 million along with various documents. The Police said they were unable to identify the perpetrators who made good their escape in a waiting car.
Police investigations are ongoing.
