Bandits trail woman from bank

Police in A Division (Georgetown-East Bank Demerara) are reviewing surveillance footage in an effort to identify bandits who snatched a handbag containing $900,000, along with other valuables from a woman in a city café on Wednesday morning.
Guyana Times understands that the victim had visited a commercial bank and soon after leaving, stopped at Oasis Café, located on Carmichael Street, Georgetown.
According to reports, as soon as the woman entered the business premises, a young man reportedly followed closely behind and snatched her handbag.
The suspect immediately walked out of the café and escaped with his accomplice who was waiting on a motorcycle.
When contacted, employees at the establishment refused to divulge any information on the incident. Nevertheless, the matter was reported to the Police and an investigation has been launched.
Police sources told Guyana Times that it is believed that the suspects trailed the woman from the commercial bank to the café.
