The five suspects fingered in the attempted robbery of Republic Bank Limited, this morning made their first appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates Court.
So far, Jamal Hanyes, a former employee of the bank, pleaded guilty to three charges included his involvement in the attempted robbery.
Haynes was sentenced to four years imprisonment for the possession of firearms and an additional four years for the possession of ammunition, along with a $90,000 fine.
He was also fined $100,000 for holding his colleague hostage in an attempt to escape during the shootout between bandits and police. Haynes is yet to be sentenced for his part in the attempted robbery.
