A showdown in Barclay Street, Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara has landed several persons in court for various offences against public order.
Twenty-eight-year-old Mahendra Seebarat of La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara, appeared at the Wales Magistrate’s Court late last week and was released on ,000 bail after he entered pleas of not guilty to threatening language and damage to property charges.
Police said that on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Goed Fortuin, Seebarat made use of threatening language against Zameena Hamid and damaged a mesh barrier belonging to Chandra Armin, a housewife. Both individuals reside at 86 Barclay Street. The defendant was released on ,000 bail for the charges.
Meanwhile, Armin, 49, who suffered damage to her property, was counter-charged, having been accused of verbally abusing Seebarat at Goed Fortuin. She was released on self-bail on the abusive language charge. Both parties will return to the Wales court on January 5 for report.
