The Guyana Jaguars are preparing for the second half of the Professional Cricket League Digicel Regional Four Day Tournament with sessions at the Everest Cricket Club ground under the guidance of national coach Esuan Crandon.

The two-time defending champions will take on points leaders Jamaica Scorpions at Sabina Park in Kingston in a top of the table clash from Friday March 10. The second placed Jaguars who trail the Scorpions by three points have made two changes to their squad that beat Trinidad and Tobago Red Force by 10 wickets at Providence in their last match before the Christmas break.

All-rounder, Christopher Barnwell who had a horrid run has been replaced by West Indies Champion Under-19 all-rounder Keemo Paul while off-spinner Eon Hooper who played just one match is replaced by fast bowler Romario Shepherd.

Barnwell, a veteran of 45 First Class matches has scored only 109 runs from four matches with an average of 18.16 runs per innings. Over the six innings, the right hander has passed 50 just once with 61 his best knock. With the ball, the seam bowler has picked up six wickets with a best of 2/20.

Paul, who just celebrated his 19th birthday has been rewarded with his maiden First Class call-up following consistent performances on the local scene and will be an asset with bat, ball and in the field.

The Jaguars batting will be lead by veteran batsman, Shivnarine Chanderpaul who is their leading run-getter with 447 runs including two centuries. Veerasammy Permaul with 27 scalps is the best bowler while Keon Joseph, Rayon Reifer and Gudakesh Motie have 16 victims each.

The 64.6 points accumulated came from two wins, one defeat to the Leeward Islands Hurricanes and two stalemates.

The Guyana Jaguars squad for the sixth round clash reads; Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Shimron Hetmyer, Leon Johnson (Captain), Vishaul Singh, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Raymon Reifer, Anthony Bramble, Romario Shepherd, Veerasammy Permaul, Gudakesh Motie, Keon Joseph, Rajendra Chandrika and Keemo Paul.
