A 34-year-old man was on Sunday shot to the upper left thigh during an argument over gambling debts at B Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown.
The injured man has been identified as Julian Cox, a bartender, of Lot 882 B Field Sophia.
According to information received, Cox was in his yard at B Field, Sophia Access Road, gambling when he and the 26-year-old suspect, who was also gambling, had a misunderstanding over money.
As a result, the suspect pulled out a hand gun from the waist of his pants and fired a shot which hit Cox.
The injured man was subsequently picked up and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by public-spirited citizens.
He was admitted as a patient to the male surgical ward and his condition is listed as stable. Meanwhile, Police noted that the suspect has not yet been arrested, but an investigation is underway.
