Bartendress, 20, charged with murder of security guard

A bartendress was remanded to prison for the capital offence of murder over the killing of a 23-year-old mother of two and security guard, Carol Davidson.
Shemika Gibson, 20, of North East La Penitence, Georgetown, appeared on Friday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
She was not required to plead to the indictable charge which alleged that on June 6, at East Ruimveldt Squatting Area, Georgetown, she murdered Davidson.
The murder accused was remanded to prison until June 21 by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly.
It was reported that on the day in question Davidson was reportedly heading home from work when she was confronted by four persons over an old grievance with one of the women.
During the confrontation, a heated argument broke out among them but the now dead woman reportedly attempted to escape by running to the back of the yard but again she was surrounded and beaten.
Further, it was reported that one of the attackers who was armed with a knife dealt the woman one blow to her chest.
After committing the act, the four attackers ran away from the scene, leaving the woman in a pool of blood on the ground. Davidson was subsequently picked up and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
