A 36-old-old man of Lot 22 Sixth Avenue, Bartica, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) appeared before Magistrate Tariq Mohamed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where he faced several traffic-related charges.
Dennis Lespuer pleaded guilty to all four charges read to him by the court.
On the charge of driving a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of alcohol, he was fined $200,000 or, in default, three months’ imprisonment.
For driving an uncertified motor vehicle, he was fined $5,000 or, in default, two weeks’ imprisonment.
He was also fined $25,000, or two-weeks’ imprisonment for breach of insurance, and $40,000 or two-weeks’ imprisonment for being an unlicensed driver.
