Excitement filled the Retrieve Hard Court on Saturday as the Glasgow Rangers Volleyball Club hosted an electrifying volleyball tournament that brought together top teams for a day of high-energy competition, music, and community spirit.
The tournament featured four male teams – GDF, Bartica Warriors, Rivers View, and Glasgow Rangers – along with two female teams, Bartica Warriors and Glasgow Rangers. Spectators were treated to intense matchups played in a best-of-five sets format, with teams battling fiercely for championship glory.

Female division
In the female category, Bartica Warriors emerged victorious after a competitive showdown against hosts Glasgow Rangers. Demonstrating strong teamwork, defensive resilience, and powerful attacking plays, Bartica secured the championship title and proudly carried home the trophy.
Male division
The male division delivered edge-of-your-seat action throughout the tournament. After a series of competitive matches, the final standings were as follows:
1st place: Bartica Warriors
2nd place: Glasgow Rangers
3rd place: GDF
4th place: Rivers View
The championship match between Bartica Warriors and Glasgow Rangers was nothing short of spectacular. Both teams showcased remarkable skill and determination, each claiming two sets in a gripping back-and-forth contest that pushed the match to a decisive fifth set.
With the crowd roaring in anticipation, Bartica Warriors elevated their performance in the final set, sealing the victory with a commanding 15-9 finish to claim the title. Their composure under pressure and consistent execution proved to be the difference in the closing moments of the game.
The tournament not only highlighted the growing talent within regional volleyball, but also reinforced the importance of community-driven sporting events in Linden and beyond.
