Battle for last 2 semi-final spots on tonight!

Limacol Football Tournament 2019…
The final two teams in the Limacol Football Tournament’s semi-finals will be decided tonight as the quarter-final action continues at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Quarter-final action started over the weekend at the Ministry of Education Ground

The double-header fixture will see Riddim Squad taking on Mahaica Determinators in the first game at 19:00h while Fruta Conquerors Under-20 FC battle with Timehri Panthers at 21:00h.
Riddim Squad are yet to lose a game in the fourth edition of the Limacol tournament, having got two convincing wins and a walkover to finish the group stage at the top of their group. Hence, the team have a bit of momentum going for them and will look to keep their slate clean. On the other hand, the Mahaica Determinators have stumbled on their way to the quarter-final stage. The East Coast outfit started strong with a win, but lost the following encounter; however, they did just enough to bag a win against Dynamic FC to advance to the quarter-final and send Dynamic packing. As such, Mahaica Determinators will be looking to revisit that determination that willed them to defeat Dynamic and use it against Riddim Squad.
The second encounter is expected to be a fast-paced one, given the youth component in both the Fruta Conquerors Under-20 and Timehri Panthers teams. Both sides have defeated their share of experienced teams this year; for the Timehri Panthers, it was Camptown FC and Black Pearl FC. Meanwhile, Fruta Conquerors enjoyed exhilarating victories over Georgetown Football Club (GFC); Buxton Stars and Northern Rangers. Tyrone Khan is expected to be a front-runner for the Timehri side while Nicholas McArthur will seek to register his third hat-trick of the tournament and Ryan Hackett will be ready to assist. Without a doubt, this youth-filled encounter will be an interesting one to witness.
The NEW GPC-sponsored Limacol Football Tournament is also supported by WJ Enterprise, the sole distributor of Croxley Papers. The Limacol semi-finals will be staged on Saturday, October 5, with the winners of tonight’s quarter-final games going head-to-head at 19:00h. The second semi-
final between Santos FC and Pele FC will go down at 21:00h.
The eventual winners of the Tournament will pocket $400,000 while the second-place finisher will settle for $200,000. The third- and fourth-place finishers will receive $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
