BCB announces packed schedule

The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) announced a host of matches for this month, including a rematch of the infamous two-day semi-final between Young Warriors and Rose Hall Town.
In addition to the Under-16 inter-club games that commenced earlier this month, the BCB will host the Under-17 quarter-finals on January 17 and January 24.
Skeldon will play Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club at Skeldon from 09:30h.
The other quarter-final will be played on January 24, with Cotton Tree playing Tucber Park at Cotton Tree from 09:30h.
On January 24, Rose Hall Canje will host Achievers at Rose Hall Canje Community Centre Ground from 09:30h.
The Ivan Madray Memorial T20 final is set for January 31 at 13:00h at Albion Community Centre Ground. Defending champions Tucber Park will meet Albion in their backyard.

The BCB two-day semi-final between hosts Young Warriors and rivals Rose Hall Town was rescheduled for January 24 and January 25 by BCB executives, after the rules were not made clear initially by the Board.
According to the BCB, failure to comply will result in the match being awarded to the opposing team. For the first time in years, the BCB announced an additional day to a two-day fixture.
Monday, January 26 is the reserve day for the two-day semi.
Play will continue until a first-innings decision is reached. Berbice cricket had a mixed year in 2025, with inter-county results not being in favour of the men and women from the Ancient County.
In the BCB’s New Year message, they have recommitted themselves to working beyond the call of duty.
“We at the Board would like to commit ourselves to working beyond the call of duty towards the development of Berbice cricket and to maintain the rich legacy of Rohan Kanhai, Basil Butcher, Joe Solomon, Alvin Kallicharan, and Roy Fredericks,” the BCB said in a social media post.
