BCB applauds Umrao, Anderson on Windies U19 nod

President Hilbert Foster and other executives of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) have recently hailed the Windies U19 training camp call-up of national youth players Kevlon Anderson and Kevin Umrao.
Anderson, of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club; and Umrao, of the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club, will this month wing out to train with the objective of identifying the next West Indies Under 19 Team.
Anderson is one of Guyana’s top youth batsmen, having played for the West Indies U19 record winning team this year. Umrao is the latest of promising spinners to emerge from the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club, and will certainly be one for the future.

The BCB has reassured all players that it would continue to invest heavily in their careers, as well as in the careers of every junior Berbice player. Assurance has been given that with the World Cup a little way off, the Berbice Cricket Board would ensure that players like Junior Sinclair, Alex Algoo, Nigel Deodat and Seon Glasgow are properly developed to join their predecessors in the training camp.
It has been expressed that “no stone shall be left unturned as we strive to return Berbice Cricket to its rightful place in West Indies Cricket”.
Berbice is no stranger to producing top players, having churned out the likes of Andre Percival, Assad Fudadin, Narsingh Deonarine, Hemnarine Chattergoon, Gajanand Singh, Richard Ramdeen and Mahendra Nagamootoo.
