BCB Awards Ceremony set for Sunday

The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) is set to host its Annual Awards Ceremony this Sunday at the Albion Community Centre on the Corentyne, where the achievements of its players, coaches and officials will be honoured.
The gala event, which returns after a three-year hiatus, is set to see proceedings from 13:00h, and some 17 awards would be presented. Among the awards would be: Berbice Under-15/17/19 Player of the Year; Most Improved Youth; Most Improved Senior; Berbice U-19 Female Player; School of the Year; Senior Coach of the Year, and Club of the Year. Headlining the individual list of potential awardees are Windes spinners Devendra Bishoo and Veerasammy Permaul; Guyana Jaguars all-rounder Romario Shepherd, and National youth players Kevlon Anderson and Kevin Sinclair.

Team-wise, the U-19 team and the Female side will be rewarded for winning the Guyana Cricket Board’s (GCB’s) Under-19 3-Day/50-Over Male and Female titles.
Senior Windies/Guyana all-rounder Erva Giddings, and Kevlon Anderson have been tipped to receive the respective Female and Under-19 MVP awards.
Coaches will also be recognised, as three of Guyana’s premier coaches — Julian Moore, Esuan Crandon and Windes Women’s player Tremayne Smartt — will be recognised for their deeds in cricket development.

Meanwhile, BCB President, Hilbert Foster, is set to take to the podium, while the feature address is set to be delivered by Attorney-at-Law Arud Gossai.
