Home News Belle West brawl lands men in court
Motaram Mohir and Rudy Welcome appeared last week before Wales Magistrate Dylon Bess after they had engaged in a brawl on June 19, 2018 at Bell West, Canal Number Two Polder, West Bank Demerara.
Having admitted to the charge, which detailed that he had assaulted Welcome, causing him actual bodily harm, Mohir told the magistrate he had been the aggressor.
According to the facts of the matter, on the day in question, the two men were on the Bell West Public Road when, at 07:00h, a heated argument erupted between them after Welcome accused Mohir of smoking cocaine. This comment resulted in the defendant slapping and cuffing Welcome about the body.
Mohir and Welcome then informed the magistrate that they had settled the matter, and had no wish for its continuation in court. The matter was accordingly dismissed.
