Bent Street clash with California Square

The second day of the round-robin in the Corona Futsal Tournament will kick-off tonight at the National Gymnasium with six more matches after an action-packed opening night on Saturday where defending champions Sparta Boss fell to Tiger Bay.
Tonight could be filled with more upsets and thrills given the quality that is expected to be on display. The first match from 19:00h, pits the compact Tucville against West Demerara’s Showstoppers who have shown from previous tournaments they are no push overs.

Next on the battle line will be new-comers Alpha Warriors led by the dynamic Job Caesar and Kingston from 19:50h followed by the colossal clash between the powerful Bent Street and California Square from 20:40h. Bent Street recently lifted a title and added Pernell Schultz to their strike force which already features Daniel Wilson and Solomon Austin.
Dark horses Old Skool Ballers will meet New Market Street from 21:30h then North East La Penitence clash with Channel 9 Warriors from 22:20h. The final match of the night engage the services of West Front Road’s Gold is Money and Sophia from 23:15h. The tournament which is collaboration with NAMILCO Wheat Gem and Hero Motorcycle has a winning purse of $600,000 and the championship trophy. Second to fourth will take home $300,000, $150,000 and $75,000 along with the corresponding accolades
Additionally, the group action is expected to be intense since $40,000 goes to the team that finishes first, $30,000, $20,000 and $10,000 will be awarded to second to fourth-place. Two Hero motor cycles will be awarded to the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the other to a lucky spectator at the finals on Easter Saturday (March 31).
