Bent Street edge Sparta on penalty kicks for title

Bent Street got the better of Sparta Boss to win the inaugural Magnum ‘Mash Cup’ Futsal Tournament which concluded on Sunday at the National Gymnasium. Watched by a close to capacity crowd, Bent Street showed who the new bosses in futsal are by securing a hard fought 3-2 penalty kick-out victory.
Ryan Hackett had given Bent Street the lead in the 12th but Jermin Junior responded three minutes later which was the last of the goals in the first half.

Junior went one better in the second stanza by giving his side the lead in the 42nd minute but just like the first half, the lead was only temporary as three minutes later Kelsey Benjamin drew the scores level 2-2 and it remained that way until the end of regulation time.
For the win, Bent Street went home with $400,000 while Sparta had to settle for $200,000.
In the third place play-off, Leopold Street won the goal spree thriller against Linden’s Silver Bullets. Okeene Fraser scored a hat-trick in the seven goals scored by Leopold while Jermaine Samuels and Keiron Cameron scored doubles in the six goal netted by the Linden town boys. Leopold Street walked away with $100,000 and $50,000 went to Silver Bullets.
