Bent Street continued their sublime run by crushing Old Skool Ballers 6-2 to progress to the quarter-finals of the Corona Futsal Tournament.
Pernell Schultz with a hat-trick lit up the National Gymnasium on Thursday evening to power the title favourites into the next phase of the riveting tournament.
Schultz scored in the 3rd, 9th and 16th while Daniel Wilson (8th), Andrew Murray Jnr (17th) and Kelsey Benjamin (19th) also etched their names on the score sheet. For the opposing unit, Fabian Crawford (3rd) and Rashawn Ritch (14th) brought brief respite.
Future Stars and Sophia had its action but the latter was no match for the winners
The shocker of the night was California Square edging the formidable Back Circle 4-3. In the tight contest, California’s goals came from David George (10th) , Meshack Barrat (4th) , Nedd Arazer (6th) and Wesly Garraway (19th) while Adrian Aaron (8th) , Donavon Francis (9th) and Jermine Beckles (15th) made the opposing goals.
The other two matches of the night were more one-sided as Alpha Warriors sauntered to a 6-3 win and Future Stars easily disposed of Sophia 6-4.
More action continues this evening with Xtreme Campbeville playing Tiger Bay, Alexander Village and West Front Road while the other two fixtures pits Leopold Street and Showstoppers and Sparta Boss with Albouystown.
The winning purse for teams is the $600,000 and the championship trophy while two Hero motor cycles will be awarded to the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the other to a lucky spectator at the finals on Easter Saturday (March 31).
