Saheed Khan, a 24-year-old construction worker of Cotton Tree, West Coast Berbice, was on Monday arraigned before Blairmont Magistrate Peter Hugh on an attempted murder charge. Because the charge is indictable, Khan was not required to enter a plea when it was read to him.
Police are contending that Khan attempted to murder Leon Bristol, a 35-year-old resident of Bath Settlement, WCB, on August 5, 2023 at D’Edward Village, WCB. Police say Khan was arrested only on October 19, and was immediately charged with the offence.
Khan has, however, been placed on $350,000 bail, and the matter has been adjourned to November 13.
