Basdeo Bhola, also called “Orvo”, of No. 47 Village Corentyne, Berbice, was on Wednesday remanded to prison after appearing before Magistrate Alex Moore at the No. 51 Village Magistrate’s Court to answer charges of causing actual bodily harm, unlawful wounding, and provoking a breach of the peace.
Basdeo Bhola had a cutlass in his hands when he was arrested
The 53-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to him.
He was reportedly arrested on Saturday, October 16, 2021 for these offences, committed against Savitri Bhola, 40, of No. 47 Village Corentyne, Berbice.
He has been remanded to prison, and will make his next court appearance on November 3, 2021.
