Berbice man stabbed to death by friend

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Berbice labourer who was reportedly stabbed to death by his friend.
Dead is Elvis Benedict of Sand Hills, Upper Berbice River. Reports are the man’s body was taken to New Amsterdam on Wednesday afternoon by boat.
Police have since confirmed that a suspect was arrested by residents and handed over to Police in New Amsterdam along with the body.
Up to press time, Police were still trying to find out the circumstances surrounding the death of Benedict. Details surrounding what transpired are sketchy.
