The Berbice Cricket Board has named 14 players to represent the county at the National Inter-county Under 17 tournament.
Following practice sessions held under the eye of Chairman of Junior Selectors, Leslie Solomon the players were named along with four standbys.
Initially a 28-man squad was shortlisted and participated in four games at the Young Warriors Cricket Club Ground, Cumberland on Sunday April 16, 2017.
Based on performances in that match, Solomon in consultation with his panel, which includes Berbice Senior Coach, Julian Moore, has shortlisted 18 players who will represent Berbice in the Guyana Cricket Board’s Under 17 competition scheduled to commence on April 26.
The Berbice Team reads: Alex Algu, Kevlon Anderson, Brandon Mangal, Jevon Schultz, Antonio February, Seon Glasgow, Deonauth Persaud, Garfield Benjamin, Melvin Singh, Dorasami Mahadeo, Cheddi Budhoo, Kelvin Omrao, Junior Sinclair and Nigel Deodat.
The Standbys are Nathaniel Raghu, Mahendra Nandu, Christopher Harry and Fawaz Gafoor.
