Berbice tattoo artist busted with ganja

Police ranks in Berbice arrested a tattoo artist from Rose Hall Town, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) after he was found in possession of 436 grams of suspected marijuana.
The discovery was made during a cordon and search operation between 12:30h and 13:00h on Saturday.

According to Police reports, the officers, acting on information received, went to the home of the suspect, a 29-year-old of Mattai Street, Rose Hall Town, situated in a completely fenced yard.
Upon the Police’s arrival at the gate of the suspect’s house, the man was standing about five feet away from where they were and ranks allegedly observed when he picked up a bulky pink plastic and threw it into a clump of bushes nearby.
One of the ranks retrieved the plastic bag and opened it in the presence of the tattoo artist, during which a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis was found in the bag.
He was told of the offence, arrested and taken to the Rose Hall Town Police Station, where the cannabis was weighed and amounted to 436 grams.
The suspect was placed into custody pending charges. (G8)
