Berbice trio busted with $1.1M worth of ganja

The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Wednesday swooped down on a house at Rose Hall Town, Corentyne Berbice and unearthed a quantity of ganja worth $1,160,000.
Based on reports received, CANU agents were conducting a narcotics’ exercise at St Paul’s Street in Rose Hall Town, Corentyne Berbice when a salt bag containing several parcels of ganja was discovered. At the time, three persons – Simeon Dwith Lawson, Veronica Walker and Leshella Walker – were at the premises, and they were arrested and taken to CANU Headquarters along with the narcotics, which when weighed amounted to 3.868kg with a street value of $1,160,400.
