Berbice woman found dead on staircase by husband

The body of a 64-year-old woman, of Lot 116 West Canefield, East Canje Berbice was found motionless on the staircase of her house by her 67-year-old husband on Christmas Day.
Reports are that at about 09:00h Lilowtie Hanoma, a housewife, was discovered by her husband, Narinedath Doodnauth. The woman’s husband told Police that she was diagnosed with breast cancer about four years ago, and when he found her, she was lying motionlessly between the first and the third stairs.
Doodnauth said that on Christmas morning, at about 08:00h, Hanoma got up from her bed and went to take a shower. Thereafter, she got dressed and sat on the stairway. About 45 minutes later, after he did not see her coming upstairs, he went to check on her. It was then that he discovered his wife motionless.
As a result, he raised and alarm and the Police were called. She was examined and no marks of violence were seen on her body. She was escorted to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where she was pronounced dead. A post mortem examination is pending as Police investigations continue.
