Based on information received, at about 09:00h yesterday, the couple were heard arguing and suddenly a gunshot was heard. Injured: Devilin Garaway

The injured woman was picked up and taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital, where she was treated, but due to the seriousness of her injuries, she was transferred to the New Amsterdam Hospital. Garraway is expected to be transferred to the Georgetown Hospital today.
Guyana Times understands that the mother of three had ended the relationship with her reputed husband a few months ago as a result of his constant abuse and allegations of infidelity.
Reports are that after the suspect had moved out, the woman’s cousin had moved in with her in the single-storey house in the Food For The Poor Housing Scheme.
The injured woman’s cousin told investigators that on Tuesday she had travelled to Georgetown to transact business, and upon her return at about 17:30h, she saw the suspect at the house, pleading with her cousin to reconcile with him. She said he spent the night there, but at about 09:00h the following morning, she was in her bedroom when she heard the couple arguing.
Marshall related that she heard the gunshot.
“I run over and she was in a pool of blood lying on the floor…she was not responding, so I called out to the neighbours, who rushed over, and we were able to take her to the hospital, where she was admitted,” Marshall added.
Doctors have since detected a wound on Garaway’s right jaw.
According to Garraway’s father Leon Robertson, when he heard of the incident, he thought his daughter had died. Robertson referred to the suspect as being “abusive” towards his daughter.
“…he was abusive, so she sent him on his own, but he still uses to go there where she is living with her three kids. As far as I concern, she was still entertaining him.”
Garraway’s children are aged eight, six and three.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday afternoon, Police issued a wanted bulletin for the suspect, Julian Arthur. According to Police, the 30-year-old man is wanted in relation to attempted murder committed on Devilin Garraway.
