BFA confident in Burnette’s leadership

GFF Super 16 Cup…

When Rivers View FC take on Western Tigers FC in the GFF Super 16 Cup to be played on Saturday, December 21, at the Bartica Community Centre Ground, one of the most experienced players of the Rivers View FC, Travis Burnette, is expected to be the mainstay of that team.

Burnette, leading from the front during team drills

Commander of the Rivers View defense, the steady and determined Travis Burnette, as that club’s centre back, has been guarding his club’s defensive third for a number of years. Respected for his strength and talent, Burnette has made a name for himself as one of the enduring players of Rivers View FC.
Because of the swashbuckling nature of his team, which plays with the instinct to go forward, Burnette and his defenders have become necessary assets at the rear. Keeping his defense compact and composed has become a fulltime job for the cool and collected Travis Burnette.
Rivers View FC, under the guidance of coach Wayne Dover and team, will be looking to make a mark on this edition of the GFF Super Cup, and with home ground advantage in their opening game and the likes of Travis Burnette in uniform, their chances are certainly above average.
When Burnette and the Rivers View boys go into action on December 21st against the Western Tigers FC, the skipper will be a definite boost to the squad, especially since he would be having the services of the experienced Handel Norton, and especially since both players will be aiming to take the team ‘all the way’.
The teams contesting this Super 16 Cup tournament are Milerock, Pele FC, Police, Timehri Panthers, Fruta Conquerors, Buxton Stars, GDF, Rivers View, Western Tigers, Santos FC, Eagles, Riddim Squad and Den Amstel. The remaining two teams will come from the Champions of the Berbice and Essequibo qualifiers respectively.
Among the sponsors of this prestigious tournament are: Pegasus Hotel, MACORP, BACIF, THAG, MVP Sports, E.C. Vieira Investments, HJ Entertainment, Impressions and NAMILCO.
