Bishoo-sponsored Albion Academy commences today

Scores of children will from today be exposed to various skill areas in the sport of cricket as the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club commences its 2017 Cricket Academy at the Albion Community Development Centre Ground in East Berbice/Corentyne.
More than 75 young cricketers between the ages of eight and 18 years are expected to participate in this week-long academy, which will conclude on July 29.
The aim of the academy is to expose young cricketers to the rudiments of cricket, so as to enhance their development.

Sessions will commence at 08:00h and conclude at 16:45h daily, with the youngsters being exposed to lectures on topics such as discipline, public speaking, importance of education, importance of fitness, and the laws of the game, among other topics, in addition to cricket coaching.
Current Guyana first class cricketers from Albion, Gudakesh Motie and Anthony Bramble, will be part of the coaching staff.
The Albion Community Centre Cricket Club wishes to express its profound gratitude to West Indies leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo for exclusively sponsoring this year’s academy. Bishoo is a product of the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club.
