“Black boy” charged for friend’s murder

Junior Abrams, called “Black Boy”, of Mabaruma, North West District, Region One, who reportedly stabbed and killed his friend Elroy Marks on July 14, 2018 during a drinking spree at the Kumaka Waterfront in Mabaruma, North West District, was on Wednesday arraigned on a murder charge at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
The 23-year-old has been remanded to prison until August 10, when the case will continue before the Mabaruma magistrate.

On the fateful day of his demise, the late Elroy Marks was reportedly at a popular shop at the Kumaka Waterfront in Mabaruma, consuming alcohol with his friend Junior Abrams, called Black Boy, when an argument broke out between them. This quickly escalated into a fight, during which Abrams allegedly armed himself with a broken beer bottle and dealt Marks a stab wound to the left side of his neck.
Marks was picked up and taken to the Mabaruma Hospital, where he was seen by a doctor and admitted a patient. However, he died while undergoing emergency surgery.
