Black Bush Polder farmer beaten during argument

A 23-year-old Corentyne rice farmer is now a patient at the New Amsterdam Hospital after he was allegedly beaten by another man on the Mibicuri Public Road in Black Bush Polder, Corentyne, Berbice Region Six (East Berbice -Corentyne) last Wednesday. The injured man has been identified as Ishwar Megnauth, also called “Buck Man”.
Based on reports received, at about 10:30h on Wednesday, Megnauth was drying paddy on the Mibicuri Public Road when he was confronted by a known male, who complained that Megnauth’s wife was in the habit of calling him.
This led to a heated argument between the two men, during which the 45-year-old suspect armed himself with a piece of wood and dealt Megnauth a blow to his hand.
The blow resulted in Megnauth sustaining injury, and he was taken to the Mibicuri Public Hospital, where he was examined and later transferred to the New Amsterdam Hospital, where he has been admitted a patient. After a report was made to the Police, the suspect was arrested, and is assisting with investigations.
