Block maker loses right eye

Munir Amin of Lot 51 First Street, Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara, the block maker who was found on Monday morning on the roadway with injuries to his body, has lost his right eye and part of his face is disfigured as a result of the severe injuries he received.
This was confirmed by one of his sisters, who told Guyana Times that he remains in a stable condition.
According to the sister, Amin underwent successful surgery on Monday afternoon and the family is hoping he can recall what took place on the morning after leaving a wedding house. The woman added that they are hoping that they receive justice. However, upon regaining consciousness on Tuesday, the young block maker told relatives that he could not remember what took place. Amin was found in the wee hours of Monday morning lying a short distance away from his home with gaping wounds to his head and face. He was reportedly found at about 03:30h by a passerby who informed his father.
The young man was picked up and taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was treated and transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital. He was admitted a patient in a critical condition. His father, Noel Seu, had stated that he could not say if his son was a victim of a hit-and-run accident or if his son was beaten.
“What ever happen to him, we don’t know… all we want is some justice…”, the father stated. The young man is described as a peaceful individual who does not get into trouble. The Police have since taken statements from the young man as they continue their investigations.
