BM Soat on board for Guyana Cup horse race

The Guyana Cup horse racing mega-event slated for August 9th has garnered even more support, as BM Soat Auto Sales have thrown their weight behind the race, set for the popular Rising Sun Turf Club on the West Coast of Berbice (Region Five).

BM Soat Auto Sales recently handed over their sponsorship during a simple ceremony, wherein Roy Jafarally, member of the organising committee, and BM Soat both thanked each other for their mutual support ahead of the event.
With now more than $15 million in cash and prizes up for grabs, this event is open to all imported and locally bred horses of all classes, ages and sex. The main supporting race is the three-year-old Derby, an 1100-metre event with a top prize of $2 million, which features only Guyana-bred horses.
Other races include the G1 and Lower 1400 metre race, which would bag the winner $1,550,000. Guyana and West Indies-bred horses classified G1 and Lower, and imported horses classified E3 and Lower, who did not earn in their last race, are eligible to compete in this race.
Other exciting races are expected in the H3 and Lower category, which would be contested over a distance of 1100 metres for a cash prize of $1,350,000; the two-year-old Guyana-bred, which would be contested over 1100 metres and have a cash prize of $680,000; the I Class and Lower event, to be contested over 1400 metres and have a cash prize of $581,000; the J3 and Lower race, to be contested over 1400 metres for a cash prize of $485,000; the L Class race, to be run over 1400 metres for a cash prize of $390,000; another L Class race to be run over 1400 metres for a similar cash prize of $390,000; and the L Class race to be run over 1100 metres for a prize of $290,000 cash.
