Body found in Church Street identified

One week after a male body was found in a Church Street, Georgetown trench, in close proximity to Peter Rose Street, he has been positively identified as Rown Tappin of Sophia, Greater Georgetown.

Dead: Rown Tappin

The man’s body was identified by his wife. This is according to Commander of A Division, Phillip Azore.
Tappin was clothed in a white T-shirt, pants, and boots.
According to reports, at about 17:45h on March 17, the police received a 911 call about a body in a trench.
A post-mortem examination was conducted on the body and the cause of death was given as drowning.
However, Azore stated that the investigation continues into the man’s death as the police are seeking to determine what led to the drowning.
