The body, which was found by fishermen, was identified by relatives by the tattoo on the chest. It is currently at the Skeldon Public Hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem.
Currently, law enforcement in Suriname have more than a dozen persons in custody, including two alleged suspects identified by survivors – “Crackhead” and “Dick” – who attacked 20 fishermen on the high seas before chopping and tossing them overboard. Thus far, there have been five survivors and four bodies recovered while 11 fishermen are still missing.
