Body found on WCB dam identified

The body of a man which was found at El Dorado, West Coast Berbice (WCB), Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice), has been identified as 51-one-year-old Shon Casey of Belladrum Village, WCB.
The discovery of the body was made on Friday afternoon along a dam leading to the backdam.
Police had stated that at the time of the discovery, slime was seen coming from the mouth and a tube (urinary catheter) was inserted in the penis, but there were no marks seen on the body.
The Police had also stated that the body of the unidentified man was at Bailey Funeral Home awaiting identification.
However, in an update on Monday, Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner Kurleigh Simon said the man was identified by his sister, Perlean Wilson. As a result, an autopsy was performed on the body which gave the cause of death as asphyxiation due to drowning.
