One day after he was reported missing, the body of 41-year-old Prakash Mahipaul of Hague Jib, West Coast Demerara, was on Thursday found at the Hague Seawall. The lifeless body of the mechanic was found at about 11:30h.
However, it is unclear how the man met his demise but Police have since confirmed that his body bore no marks of violence. A Police source told Guyana Times that they have not ruled out foul play but from all indications, the man might have drowned.
A post-mortem examination (PME) is expected to be conducted today to ascertain the cause of death of the father of two. He was last seen leaving his home at about 17:00h. Attempts to contact a family member of the now dead man proved futile. His body was taken to the Ezikiel Funeral home awaiting a PME. The dead man is survived by his wife and two children. Police are continuing their investigations.
