Body of unidentified man found at Craig

The body of a so-far-unidentified man was discovered at Good Success Dam, Craig, East Bank Demerara (EBD) on Monday at about 15:00h.
Police have reported that at the time of the discovery, the body was in a trench, facing downwards, and was in a partial state of decomposition. The body was clad in a multi-coloured shirt and dark coloured pants.
The body was pulled from the trench, and no visible marks of violence were evident thereon. The body has been escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home to await identification and PME.
The Guyana Police Force has since launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the demise of the body.
On Tuesday last, Police reported that a so-far-unidentified man was on Monday found floating at the Vergenoegen foreshore, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), and he is suspected to have drowned. The Leonora Police Station had received a report from an unknown caller at about 14:30h, who informed them that the body of a man was seen floating at the Vergenoegen foreshore.
Police ranks went to the location and found the man’s body, clad in a red short pants, floating face downwards.
The body was retrieved from the water and checked for marks of violence, during which it was observed that parts of the skin on the face had been removed.
