Boodie, Savory script another Essequibo win

– all other fixtures abandoned

Unbeaten half centuries from Kevon Boodie and Kemol Savory helped Essequibo ease to nine wicket win over West Demerara in the only game possible when the Jaguars Franchise League 50 Over competition continued on Tuesday.
As if the near two-week long break was a thing of the imagination, Essequibo Skipper Anthony Adams easily snared 5-10 to bundle out West Demerara to 135 at the Tuschen ground.

It was a simple task for the Essequibians who strolled to their target after Boodie smacked 67 not out and wicket-keeper Savory who stroked an unbeaten 57.
Meanwhile, West Berbice and Lower Corentyne had their game at Albion abandoned due to soft pitch and wet outfield as was the case at Port Mourant where Upper Corentyne and Georgetown were set to clash.
The only match that was scheduled for Demerara, between East Coast Demerara and Upper Demerara/East Bank at the Everest Cricket Club also suffered a similar fate much to the disappointment of the players who are seeking impressive performances for a chance at selection to the Guyana Jaguars Super50 squad.
Four more matches are scheduled for Thursday.
