Bounty Colts, Eagles victorious in U-23 division

Bounty Colts defeated Guardians 66-53 Wednesday evening the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association’s (GABA) Powerade/Rainforest Waters/Malta Supreme sponsored basketball league continued on the Burnham Court.
In the first of two Under-23 games Bounty Colts established a 5 point lead with the scores at 11-6 by the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter Colts increased that advantage by some margin while limiting their opponents scoring chances, going into the break the score was 37-21.
The colts continued their dominance throughout the remaining two quarters and ended the game at 66-53 to win comfortably.
The second game of the night between the Pacesetters and the Eagles produced a close contest with both sides playing their hearts out. However, in the end Pacesetters emerged as the victors by a 68-62 margin. .
At the end of the first quarter it was clear that the game would go right down to wire as the score was 14-16 in favour of the Eagles.
The second quarter had Eagles leading 29-26 at the end and continued to hold off a spirited challenge by Pacesetters to win the game.
The league will continue on Saturday evening at the same venue with three games with the first beginning from 6:30pm. Eagles will face the Bounty Colts in U-23 action while the other two division one games will see the Nets clashing with the Knights, and the Bounty Colts coming up against Pepsi Sonics.
