The National Exhibition Centre came alive with precision, poise and high drama this weekend as the National Indoor Archery Championship 2025 concluded after two days of intense competition.
Archers from Bow Nation, Golden League Archery, Pro Archers Guyana, Qayyim Archery and independent ranks battled across recurve, compound and barebow divisions, showcasing the growing depth of talent in the sport.

Bow Nation tops medal table
Bow Nation emerged as the overall medal leader, securing five gold medals to narrowly edge Golden League Archery, who amassed the highest total medal count but finished second on the gold tally. Pro Archers Guyana placed third overall, while Qayyim Archery and independent competitors also reached the podium.
The championship featured standout performances across senior and Under-18 categories, with several finals decided in commanding fashion.
Waldron claims recurve men’s crown
Trevaughn Waldron of Bow Nation delivered a clinical performance in the recurve men’s division. After leading qualification with a score of 515, Waldron powered through the elimination rounds before defeating Jeewanram Persaud of Golden League Archery 6-0 in the gold medal match.
Mehandra Chatargum of Bow Nation secured bronze after a tightly contested third-place playoff.
Williams shines in recurve women
Golden League’s Julie-Ann Williams captured the recurve women’s title with a composed 6-2 victory over Karin Toppin. Williams, who had qualified second, elevated her shooting in the final, displaying consistency under pressure.
Roshini Boodhoo claimed bronze to complete a competitive women’s podium.

Youth archers impress
The future of the sport was on full display in the Under-18 divisions.
Saifullah Gani of Bow Nation dominated the recurve Under-18 men’s category, taking gold ahead of teammate Brandon Cummings. In the girls’ event, Fatima Gani secured another gold for Bow Nation, reinforcing the club’s strength in youth development.
Compound competition belonged entirely to Pro Archers Guyana. Anand Mangra led a clean sweep in the compound men’s division, finishing ahead of teammates Jahleel Farley and Ricky Ross. Ravish Singh followed suit in the compound Under-18 men’s category, topping an all-Pro Archers podium.
Golden League dominates barebow
Golden League Archery stamped its authority in the barebow men’s division, claiming all three medals. Nolan Grey triumphed over Shiva Tularam in the final, with Darrell Saul earning bronze.
In the barebow women’s contest, Jo-Lee Zammet of Bow Nation rose to the occasion, capturing gold ahead of Kenisha Alleyne, while Juanita Persaud secured bronze.
Qayyim Archery celebrated a breakthrough moment as Aalim Kahn captured gold in the barebow Under-18 men’s category, earning his club’s lone but significant medal of the championship.
Across all divisions, scoring standards reflected steady improvement, particularly in qualification rounds where several archers posted personal bests. The event also highlighted strong participation among junior athletes, signalling a promising future for the sport.
Officials praised the discipline and sportsmanship displayed throughout the weekend, as well as the increasing competitiveness among clubs.
With new champions crowned and rising stars emerging, the 2025 National Indoor Archery Championship delivered both excitement and inspiration – setting the stage for an even more fiercely -contested season ahead.
