Brawl lands sisters, neighbour in court

Shania Ellis, 19, and Zoisa Profit, 25, along with their neighbour Deon Roberts, 46, all of Lot 15 D’Urban Backlands Squatting Area appeared before the court of law on Monday after they were involved in a brawl at their residence.
They appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, where they were all released on self-bail.
Ellis, who is currently unemployed, denied both of the charges.
The first charge read to Ellis alleged that on February 21, at D’Urban Backlands, she made use of threatening language towards Deon Roberts.
It was further alleged that on February 21, at D’Urban Backlands, she threw a brick to the annoyance of Deon Roberts.
Moreover, her sister Zoisa Profit, who is a primary school teacher, also denied the charges against her.
According to the particulars of the charge, on February 21 at D’Urban Backlands, Profit threw a brick to the annoyance of Deon Roberts.
Meanwhile, the sisters’ neighbour also pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on February 21, at D’Urban Backlands, he threw bricks to the annoyance of Zoisa Profit.
The trio was placed on a bond by Magistrate McLennan until the completion of the matter. They are set to reappear in court on May 11. (G15)
