Brazilians among suspects nabbed for shooting at cops

Ranks in F Division (Interior Locations) came under gunfire on Tuesday night when they went to a house at Tabatinga, Lethem, Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo) as part of investigations into a robbery which occurred earlier in the day.
Three suspects, all Brazilian, were apprehended shortly after the robbery.
However, investigators received further information and went to the house in Tabatinga sometime around 22:30h, where they were greeted by several rounds that were fired from inside the building.
A standoff ensued and after some time, the area was cordoned off. The lawmen using their tactical training subsequently gained entry into the building. They arrested four persons, including two females, who are also Brazilian nationals.
During a search of the premises, a .38 revolver, a 9mm magazine and 42 live rounds of ammunition were found in the house.
At about 15:00h on Tuesday, three Brazilian bandits stormed Dwayne’s Phone and Jewellery Shop and held the female owner at gunpoint, since she was alone in the store.
The men then relieved the woman of a quantity of cash, several cellphones and jewellery, before attempting to make good their escape using her car.
However, Police ranks were in the vicinity and promptly responded after an alarm was raised. The men were subsequently apprehended.
