Emergency works have commenced following a breach yesterday at the koker at Little Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
Both Ministers of Public Works Juan Edghill and Deodat Indar were on site today to make an assessment.
Minister Edghill said the contractor has to be held responsible.
Several villagers were said to be affected by flooding following the breach at the koker, which reportedly occurred during high tide.
