Breeders Cup set for July 14

The Jumbo Jet Racing Committee will, for the first time ever, present the Breeders Cup, a fundraising event which will feature grass track racing, horse racing and a car-and-bike show at the Bush Lot United Turf Club on Sunday July 14, 2019 from 10:00 am.
The card consists of horses racing in five categories, and promises to be an exciting one. Feature event of the meet is the E3 & Lower race, set to be run over a distance of 1200 metres. A winning purse of $400,000 is being competed for, while second and third place will settle for $200,000 and $100,000 respectively.
Other events listed on the card include: 3-year-old Guyana-bred horses racing over a distance of 1400 metres for a first prize of $300,000; with second and third place finishers receiving $150,000 and $75,000 respectively. J3 & Lower horses racing over 1200 metres for a winning prize of $200,000, with second and third place winners pocketing $100,000 and $50,000 respectively. Two-year-old Guyana-bred horses racing for a prize of $150,000, with second and third place winners receiving $75,000 and $37,000 respectively. And the L and Lower race to be run over 1200 metres, with the winner receiving $100,000, while second and third place winners would collect $50,000 and $25,000 respectively.
All races would be run under the Guyana Horse Racing Rules, and horses must meet the requirements set out by the Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Racing Committee. A 50% deposit of entrance fee is required to be paid by July 6, while the remaining balance can be paid on the day of the race.
