Guyana’s Shemar Britton was in ripping form when he defeated reigning Caribbean men’s Champion Samuel Galvez of the Dominican Republic by a 3-1 margin (12-10, 7-11, 11-7, 11-8) while playing in the 2017 WASA Invitational Open Trinidad and Tobago open TT Championships over the weekend.
Representing Trinbago Gladiators against Trinbago Invaders, Britton defeated Galvez in a keenly tactical encounter.
Guyana‘s Joel Alleyne, also playing for the Gladiators with Brtitton, lost to former Caribbean champion Trevor Farley by a 3-2 margin. Invaders defeated Gladiators by a 4-2 margin
Natalie Cummings is Guyana’s other representative at the championships. She is playing for Trinidad Invaders.
